Notification Tracker relies exclusively on data that is publicly available from official EU sources. This page provides an overview of the datasets we use, how we process them, and what they represent. We are committed to transparency, and all data used on this website is accessible to the public under existing EU open data and information access rules.
The core dataset displayed on Notification Tracker originates from the Technical Regulation Information System (TRIS) of the European Commission. This system makes available all notifications submitted by EU Member States under Directive (EU) 2015/1535 regarding new draft national legislation that may affect the single market.
The platform also publishes comments and detailed opinions submitted by the European Commission, other Member States, and external stakeholders. We regularly update our internal database to reflect the content and status of these notifications. The information displayed on our site corresponds exactly to what is made publicly available through the TRIS website.
While TRIS shows the names of organisations that submit feedback, it does not offer structured details about who these stakeholders are. To provide context for users, we map these names to entries in the EU Transparency Register — a voluntary registry of interest representatives maintained by the European Commission and the European Parliament.
This allows us to display additional information about organisations that engage in the notification process, including their affiliations, types (e.g., company, NGO, association), and self-declared interests. The visual networks displayed on Notification and Organisation pages are also based on data from the Transparency Register, particularly the affiliations between registered entities.
All data displayed on this site is obtained from open and publicly accessible EU sources. The reuse of such information complies with applicable laws, including the reuse provisions outlined in the EU’s open data framework. No personal data is processed or displayed, and no access-restricted or proprietary datasets are used.
