The purpose of updating this order is to significantly increase the performance thresholds, which has been made possible thanks to the progress made by manufacturers of materials and equipment since 2007. It also serves to take into account the European directive and regulations on the ecodesign of energy-related products, known as Ecodesign.
The Order of 3 May 2007 on the thermal characteristics and energy performance of existing buildings addresses the minimum performance that must be achieved by elements (insulation materials, windows, boilers, etc.) when they are fitted, installed or replaced.
