Explanation

Given that herbicides are the product category most widely used by non-professionals and that there are effective alternatives available, either alone or in combination, to replace the use of herbicides by non-professionals, it is important to quickly put measures in place to promote the use of products posing the lowest risk to both people and the environment, as well as existing alternatives.

Summary

The aim of this royal decree is to ban the placement on the market and use by non-professional users of herbicides posing the greatest risks to health and the environment. Doing so promotes products that contain the basic substances, biopesticides and low-risk substances.
