The Commodities Act Order on vitamin preparation exemptions states that vitamin preparations shall contain a maximum of 1 200 µg RE vitamin A in the form of retinoids and a maximum of 75 µg vitamin D per daily usage amount according to the directions for use. Lower maximum amounts shall apply for children. The explanatory notes on an amendment to the Commodities Act Order on vitamin preparation exemptions indicate the method of calculating these maximum amounts (see prior Notification 2015/336/NL).
Article 10(1) of the of the Commodities Act Decree on foodstuff preparation and treatment [BBL] states that vitamins shall not be present in food or beverages unless the type and quantity of vitamin is naturally present in said food or beverage.
