The provisions of the bill are in conformity with Directive 2014/40/EU on the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States concerning the manufacture, presentation and sale of tobacco and related products and repealing Directive 2001/37/EC.
The main content of the bill is to set rules about the use, sale, labelling and marketing of electronic cigarettes and refill containers for electronic cigarettes. In addition the bill implements for the most part Article 20 of Directive 2014/40/EU that applies to notification to the competent authorities of the manufacturing, import and sale of electronic cigarettes and refill containers for electronic cigarettes. The bill sets rules on the highest legal limit for nicotine in refill containers as well as on the amount legal in each container and tank. The bill also sets rules on in which places it is prohibited to use the products as well as age limit for sale and buying of the product.
