Under Article 3 of Law No 2010-476 of 12 May 2010 on the opening to competition and regulation of the online gambling sector, the rules relating to information society services incumbent on gambling and sports betting operators offering online services pursues three objectives.
The draft Order is issued pursuant to IV of Article 137 of Law No 2019-486 of 22 May 2019 on business growth and transformation. In particular, this Article empowers the Government to take, by way of an order, any measure falling within the scope of the law whose purpose is to redefine and specify the regulatory arrangements of this sector, with a view to establishing an independent administrative authority.
