- Directive 2000/13/EC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the labelling, presentation and advertising of foodstuffs
A new version of the draft has been prepared to take into account the fact that beer may be fermented using other types of yeast (such as wine, whisky, sake, Brettanomyces yeast, etc.), while under the current Technical Regulation on the description, production and commercial presentation of beer and beer cocktails, only beer yeast can be used for production of beer. For the sake of integrity of the legislation, we have also implemented some other changes, including technical ones.
The draft lays down general rules for the description, production and commercial presentation of malt beer and beer cocktails. Its provisions are binding on all companies of the Republic of Lithuania that engage in the production, import and sale of beer and beer cocktails.
