The French authorities wished to implement the option offered by Article 13.2 of the revised AVMS Directive in order to ensure the sustainability of our system of financing the production of works, in particular of an independent nature, and to guarantee equity between French publishers and global platforms.
The draft Decree relating to on-demand audiovisual media services implements the Order transposing Directive (EU) 2018/1808 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 November 2018 amending Directive 2010/13/EU (‘audiovisual media services’).
