The lack of building materials is a general trend globally and also in the EU, and the impact of this in Hungary threatens the completion of ongoing investments and the start-up of new ones.

The draft stipulates that raw materials and products of strategic importance for security of supply in the construction sector can be exported or sold with a licence. During the authorisation, the minister responsible for domestic economy examines whether the sale or export of building materials abroad significantly impedes or impairs the establishment, operation, maintenance or development of critical infrastructure.
