The reason for this law is the need to have updated gambling rules that reflect the major changes that this sector has undergone in recent times.
The current gambling law is not sufficiently robust and is difficult to interpret because, due to its age, it does not reflect the current situation. This new text therefore aims to update the content of the current 1985 law and to make it more specific. The aim is to mitigate the dangers and risks caused by excessive or irresponsible gambling by establishing greater government control.
