The main objective of the Royal Decree is to implement Article 74 of Law 11/2022 of 28 June, General Telecommunications Law, which has transposed into Spanish law Article 109 of Directive (EU) 2018/1972 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018 establishing the European Electronic Communications Code, which regulates the single European emergency number 112.
This Royal Decree updates the regulation of emergency communications through the single emergency number 112, making changes aimed at achieving a text that is consistent and systematic with the provisions contained in Article 74 of Law 11/2022, of 28 June, General Telecommunications Law, and incorporating the latest technological advances in this field.
