Answers to the questions raised will only be possible on the basis of a comprehensive impact assessment. However, the adverse effects that can be presumed in advance are such as to justify a ban on the production and placing on the market of laboratory-grown meat. However, the uses which may be exempted from the general prohibition should be specified. Such scenarios include medical and veterinary use, taking into account that they may serve, directly or indirectly, to protect human health.
